El Rio Fastpitch Fall Ball 2025 – Program Overview & Interest Info

Purpose of Fall Ball

The El Rio Fastpitch Fall Ball 2025 season is designed to give players an additional opportunity to build skills, understand game fundamentals, and transition smoothly into their upcoming spring division. This program prioritizes individual development, fair play, and access for all players interested in learning and growing in the sport.

Key Features of Fall Ball

• Focus on fundamentals and division-specific rules
• Individual sign-ups only — no pre-formed teams
• Player assessments and coach-led draft to ensure balanced teams
• Open to 6U, 8U, and 10U divisions
• 4 teams per division (approx. 144 players total)
• All players receive a jersey and socks
• Season runs August to October
• 8–12 games per team, with 1–2 games per week
• End-of-season single-elimination tournament
• Games and practices held at RIO PLAZA fields

Cost & Payment Options

• Estimated cost: $220 per player
• Final cost may vary slightly depending on total participation
• Two-payment plan option will be available during registration

All players who register for Fall Ball will also receive a discounted USA Softball player registration fee for the 2026 Spring Season.

Season Schedule

• Assessments: August 10, 2025
• Practices Begin: August 12, 2025
• Opening Day: September 6, 2025
• Final Game & Tournament: October 25, 2025

• 6U – 1-hour games (first 3 weeks round robin; scoring begins after Week 3)
• 8U – 1 hr 15 min games (Drop Dead)
• 10U – 1 hr 20 min games (Drop Dead)

Coach Info & Requirements

• Coaches must fill out an interest form
• All coaches must complete a background check and SafeSport certification
• Coaches will participate in the player draft process
• Coaches help shape a fun and instructional environment

Team Formation Process

• All players will participate in player assessments
• Coaches will review results and draft teams to ensure balance
• Siblings will be kept together upon request
• Friend requests will be considered but are not guaranteed to ensure fair play

Junior Umpire Program

We’re expanding our Junior Umpire Program during Fall Ball! This is a great opportunity for older players or community members interested in learning to umpire in a fun, low-pressure environment. No experience required — training will be provided.
